Express Yourself

Have you ever looked at someones nails and you could already make an assumption at what kinda person they are? I know we're not supposed to judge the book by the cover but sometimes the cover tells you what to expect from the book. And do you ever remember at school that you could tell which social group a person belongs to because of the color of their nails? (e.g. black nail varnish was associated with the goths, pink was associated with 'those girl', cliche right?)

Well personally i LOVE painting my nails! For me they are another way to express myself and the kinda person i am when i'm feeling lazy with getting dressed up. Time of year doesn't really affect the color i paint my nails it usually just depends on my mood at the current moment i remove my bag filled with may colors. Above you can see the collection of nail colors an designs i have had since the last 3 years.

Experimenting with various colors and patterns adds a flavor of you to your nails that even if imitated by others will never be same because it was created by you for you.

I found some examples of unique nail art from various users on fashionista.com that if you have chance you should check out if you're ever looking for inspiration or just to appreciate how others are expressing themselves.

Below are just some pictures i found on the interweb that i thought looked interesting and will hopefully inspire me in the future.

Azealia Banks- straight up M.A.C-ing

Miss Azealia '212' Banks has been shaking up the music industry with her unique style of witch-hop (which to my understanding is a genre consisting of hip hop and house predominantly done by females, hence the 'witch').

Her no hold bars lyrics and effortless flow are the icing to the cake that make Azealia a force to be reckoned with, not only by female lyricists but also the fellas have to watch out too (ask Jim Jones!!).

Her style is as sharp as her lyrics making her a fashion inspiration in my eyes. And it seems like i'm not the only one who's noticed as M.A.C has created a lipstick in her honor rightly named after her alter ego 'Young Rapunxel'. It's deep plum in color (kinda reminds me of a gothic/ vampire/ lady of the night type). Its available online from the 5th September pricing at $15, then it will be available from the 6th- 20th September at the New York M.A.C store. When it'll reach over the Atlantic i'm not entirely sure but will keep you posted.

Her style can also be seen in her videos for the songs on her "1991" EP; Liquorice channeling her all American spirit, Van Vogue showing you can be powerful yet feminine in a pant suit, and 1991 taking you back to the good ol' days.

Let me know what you think.

Take a Bow...

I have a confession to make... I have difficulties walking in heels :(

By heels i mean stiletto's and heels which which basically don't help the problem that i already have with gravity. The only shoes with height i trust myself to walk in without looking too much of a fool would be Wedges or Platforms due to the fact that i get the height i desire without the fear of toppling over in a horrendous way.

I just wanted to share the wedges i got from my bud Piwa (http://fashionispoetic.blogspot.co.uk/) for my birthday, bought from Linzi.

So i'm not a big fan of pink, but in my defense it Fuchsia ;) They took me a few try's to get used to them as they are higher than my usual but they comfy considering they're open toe.

Below is a little collage of how/ what i would wear with these particular heels :)

Let me know what i should wear with my new shoes :) All opinions welcome :)
